Critic’s Review

A great, quirky spot to hang out and unwind.

The building was originally built as a house, but has been converted into a cozy restaurant and wine-making facilities. The owners (Tim & Pam) make a variety of wines from grapes grown here in Nevada and elsewhere. There is a patio where you can sit back and relax, and they do a lot of different special events throughout the year.

The staff are very friendly and will help guide you to a wine you will enjoy. If you’re not sure, do a wine flight and sample everything. Personally I go for their in-house Petite Sirah.

The food is mostly small plates, pizzas and paninis. The only trouble is, the food is so good that you can easily end up snacking and drinking the whole afternoon away! My favorites are the truffle chips, and the caprese mozzarella bites. Whatever bread they make the mozzarella bites with is so good, we end up ordering 2 or 3 plates of it before we’re done.

I find the atmosphere charming — the interior is small with just a few tables, which is perfect for me, but if you want more space there’s always the patio out back. There is also a private room which you can book and hang out next to the wine vats.

Artesian Cellars is definitely worth a stop whenever you’re passing through Pahrump!
