Critic’s Review
* Update 12/29/24: We’ve become aware that Nicco’s has permanently closed. Apparently their landlord really screwed them over, driving another long-time Pahrump establishment out of business. It’s so sad to see. We’ve heard rumors they are looking for a new location, which I really hope they are able to do.
Looking for pizza in Pahrump? O Happy Bread French Bakery & Café recently started serving Sourdough Pizzas which really are quite excellent. They are more on the fancy/bougie end of the pizza spectrum (think California Pizza Kitchen), but, with the loss of Nicco’s, they have become our new favorite pizzas in Pahrump.
Original review remains below for historical purposes:
Nicco’s is one of the few places in Pahrump I truly love. Their pizza is the best in Pahrump I’ve found so far, and just plain good pizza anywhere.
Besides just pizzas, Nicco’s has an extensive menu of Italian food, salads, and sandwiches. I’ve heard from others that their spaghetti and meatballs are great. I have tried their Antipasto salad, which is good and exactly what you would expect. Other than that I have not, sadly, branched out to try the rest of their menu yet, since I always go for the pizza!
Nicco’s is our go-to pizza when we’re at home. I’ve also ordered them for the office when we’ve had big meetings and everyone raves about it.
I’ve ordered Nicco’s for delivery and take out, but have never actually dined-in at their restaurant. I can say from just picking up pizzas that the restaurant has a warm, old-school Italian pizza place vibe. (Unfortunately since I’ve never dined in yet I don’t know if they have iced tea or not.)
My only gripe about Nicco’s is that they charge a fee for paying with credit card. I absolutely hate when places do this to me — they could add $1 or $2 to the price of everything on the menu and I wouldn’t care, but to be charged that 3% makes me feel nickel-and-dimed every time. I grind my teeth and don’t say anything as I pay because otherwise their pizza is so good.
The staff are warm and friendly. The owner (an elderly Italian woman) and her daughter take good care of everyone and I enjoy chatting with them while waiting for my pizza.
Overall, we’re so lucky to have a place like this in Pahrump!
